Jeanette Obas is an American Author of Poetry & Young Adult novels, with a focus on powerful themes such as friendship, survival, loyalty, and hope. Through compelling characters and gripping narratives, she explores the challenges and triumphs of adolescence, offering readers an escape into stories that resonate deeply with the heart. Her first novel GRACE UNDER THE STARS was called nostalgic and heartfelt. Jeanettes next book, BLACK IN WONDERLAND: THE TALE OF ALEX JOHNSON, is a twisted, modern reimagining of a Alice In Wonderland, where Alex must decide: Will he risk everything to save Wonderland or walk away and let the kingdom disappear for good? Coming Summer 2025.

Jeanette started her journey as a writer later in life. Before that, she spent fourteen years working in the medical field. She pursued her MFA in Creative Writing, setting herself on the path to becoming a published writer. After years of writing poetry she published her first collection GOLDEN PETALS: THE DEFINITION April 2024. Its follow up STARVING LION: DANGEROUS THOUGHTS published in July 2024. Though she loves writing poetry, her heart lies with ya and psychological thrillers. During her MFA program, she wrote her first novel, HIPPO, a psychological thriller about a girl who suffers from DID and being stalked by a mysterious man, is due out Winter 2026.

Born in the heart of Rhode Island and raised in Massachusetts, she is a proud New England girl. Growing up in foster care with ten brothers and sisters, she was eventually adopted with her biological brother when she was ten. It was during her childhood that she discovered her love for books and writing. She’s married with three children and three cats.

When she’s not writing she spending time with family, drawing, playing games, doing anything she can to keep busy in her home, right outside of Boston.
